On December 7, 2022 at 11:08 pm eastern, we will have the final Full Moon of 2022, the Full Cold Moon in Gemini.
Every Full Moon occurs when the Sun is in the sign opposite to the Moon, casting its glow and illuminating the lessons inherent to that polarity of signs. The Sagittarius (Sun) - Gemini (Moon) axis is the axis of knowing. Both signs are focused on understanding things in a new way, but they approach it very differently.
Sagittarius is all about a pursuit of expanded consciousness, big-picture awareness, faith and reverence. The medicine of Sagittarius season is reflection, gratitude, and generosity. We are being asked, during this closing chapter of 2022, to pull the lens back and become aware of that which truly matters, to connect with truth, to allow the fire of Sagittarius to burn off whatever is no longer serving.
Meanwhile, Gemini doesn't worry so much about the big picture. Geminis are the mischief-makers of the zodiac; the ones who can find laughter in heavy moments and have a twinkle in their eye. They are the storytellers, the lightkeepers, the connectors. The ones most connected to their inner child.
Additionally, this Moon is exactly conjunct Mars in Gemini. It may have felt, since Mars stationed retrograde back at the end of October, that certain projects have lost their forward momentum. Perhaps communication has stymied, or motivation has waned. This Full Moon happens to also align with a new Mars cycle, so it may offer a temporary breakthrough where things can move forward again. Of course, Mars will station direct on January 12th, so we have that to look forward to!
To truly embody the medicine of this Gemini Full Moon, lighten your heart. Open up to a friend about what's been feeling heavy for you. Take action to share ideas. Tell your story. Laugh at life - at its seriousness, at its sadness, at our childlike hearts. Play. Be curious and compassionate with ourselves and our loved ones. The mantra for this Full Moon is, "Life is too important to be taken seriously."
